Double Diagonal Birthday Card

  • Cut each 4 1/4" x 11" card base on one side from the score line to the corner
  • Cut cup lid and sleeve from the Mossy Meadow triangle
  • Cut the Cup from the Scarp of Whisper White
  • Using the oval from the Coffee Cups Framelits cut a half oval from one long side of the 2" x 4" white piece
  • Cut the DSP from corner to corner: Place it face up on the cutter with the small side to the top. Then turn it to the left and cut from corner to corner to cut in half diagonally.
  • Cut out Happy Birthday from the Pumpkin Pie. Brush with Wink of Stella and allow to dry.
  • Using the coffee beans from the stamp set and Crumb Cake Ink, randomly stamp one of the larger white pieces and the 2"x 4" white piece.
  • Cut the other large white piece in half diagonally

Now you are now ready to assemble the card:
  • Glue the 4 ½” x 11” pieces together so that the diagonals fold in front along on the bottom.
  • Attach diagonal DSP pieces to the front and the diagonal white pieces to the inside.
  • Attach large white stamped piece to the inside
  • Glue the three uncut sides of the 2”x 4” piece to the center bottom of the inside. This will hold the gift card so use a thin line of glue near the edges.

  • Attach cup top and sleeve to the cup
  • Attach cup to right diagonal flap, centering it on the card making sure to only glue on the right flap
  • Glue Happy Birthday over the cup, centering it an again making sure to only glue on the right diagonal flap

Congratulations, you made a card!!

This is the card I demonstrated today at a Stampin' UP! Party and can now share with you.
I got the idea for this card from Francie Martin, she has a great YouTube Video on it.

Designer Series Paper 4" x 5 1/4" from various Garden Impressions (146289) -Page 191
Garden Trellis Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (TIEF)  (143741) -Page 222
Night of Navy Ink (147110) -Page 184
Stitched Shapes Framelits (145372) 2nd biggest oval -Page 220
Sentiments from Picture Perfect Birthday (145519) Photopolymer -Page 76
Adhesive - Tear & Tape (138995), liquid glue (110755) or snail (104332) -Page 213
Stampin' Dimensionals (104430) -Page 213

Score cardstock in half in both directions
With long side at top score at 5 1/2"
With short side at top score at 4 1/4"
Cut card stock in half from corner to corner.

CUTTING TIP:  place the blade in the center and cut up then down.

Fold on the score lines to make the diagonal flaps. Fold with long side to your left and fold the top flap down and then the right flap to the left.

Cut one of the Night of Navy and the DSP from corner to corner.  Note cutting tip above.

Cut the DSP face up:  with the short side on top turn sheet to the left and cut corner to corner.

This way it will fit the diagonal flaps.

Emboss the Night of Navy triangle with the Garden Trellis TIEF

Attach the Night of Navy and the DSP triangles to the corners.

Cut oval out of Whisper White and stamp desired sentiment with Night of Navy Ink.

Attach the sentiment to one of the diagonal flaps. This will help keep the card closed.
Congratulations. You made a card!!
