Virtual Retreat

I decided to try a virtual retreat. It was held April 25 on facebook and was presented by Brandy Cox, Connie Stewart, Jackie Bolhuis, Lisa Curcio and Sharon Armstrong. I signed up through Connie Stewart.

It was fun, I learned a lot including various tips and tricks, a lot to remember but luckily I have the videos and tutorials to fall back on. I can't share those with you they are for the retreat goers only. But I can share with you what I made using their directions.

So here goes, lots of photos - there were 11 presentations, plus a bonus guest or two!  Not everyone made the exact same card since we used what we had on hand, but all are the same technique. We have a week to post our finished cards and then our names will go into a drawing to win a prize!

The day started with a pop up card taught by Brandy.

That was followed by a 6"x 6" one sheet wonder taught by Jackie. It made 5 cards.

Then Sharon taught this fun fold.
This extra sentiment layer on the inside was my idea and not part of the tutorial.

Then Lisa taught us how to make a sunburst card. The State flag called to me for this one.

Then Connie taught us a floating image card. I made two.

Brandy then taught us a framed card and using Stampin' Blends and sponge daubing.

Jackie taught us a card to make using paper scraps.

Sharon taught us how to make this box.

We had a surprise visit by Gerta who taught us how to make another box, but I have not made it yet.

Lisa challenged us to make a card using a specific card layout.

Then Connie showed us how to make our own designer series paper and this cool triple fold card.

The day ended with a Mystery card. I have never done this before and it was fun!! Before the retreat started we were given our first clue which consisted of the cuts and scores for card stock and paper, and any other supplies. When the class started we were given clues (instructions) one at a time and in the end we should have a card that looked like the one she made. We did not see the finished card until the end. I was luckier than some mine came out correctly! It was a double Z fold!

If you are interested they plan to do another one in July, date to be determined.

That is all for now!!
